Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 8, 2026
This policy explains what the iOS app Puzzles (by V23 Labs) stores and why. Contact: support@v23labs.com.
Summary
- No accounts, no sign-up. We don't ask for your name, email, phone number or location.
- The app creates a random device id. It is not your Apple advertising id and is not linked to your identity.
- Your progress and settings are saved on your device; leaderboard results and invites are kept on our server.
- We do not sell your data.
- The app shows ads from Google AdMob.
What stays on your device
How many puzzles you solved of each kind, your chosen difficulty, free hints, today's daily puzzles, which tutorials you have seen and your settings (music, sounds, vibration, theme). You can erase all of it at any time: Menu → Delete all progress. Deleting the app also removes it.
What we keep on our server
Random device id, invite code and nickname. On first launch the app sends its random id to our server, which creates your invite code and a default nickname ("Player XXXX"). You can change the nickname on the leaderboard screen; it is shown to other players there.
Solved puzzles. When you solve a puzzle, the app sends which puzzle it was (kind, difficulty and level number), your answer and your time. The server re-creates the puzzle, checks the answer and counts it for the weekly leaderboard; today's daily puzzles (solved without hints) also appear on the daily leaderboard with your time and nickname.
Invites. We store which invite code your device used and whether the free hints were given. When someone opens an invite link on our website, we store a salted hash of their IP address (not the address itself) with the code for up to 72 hours, so the app can apply the invite automatically.
Our server runs on Cloudflare Workers with a Cloudflare D1 database; data is encrypted in transit. Menu → Delete all progress erases everything above for your device, on the phone and on the server.
Advertising: Google AdMob
The app shows interstitial ads between puzzles and rewarded ads you choose to watch (for a hint or an extra life). Google may collect and use data such as your IP address, device information and, if you allow it, the advertising identifier, to deliver, personalise and measure ads. Where required, Google's consent form and Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt are shown, and you can change your choice later. If you decline personalised ads you still see ads, but not personalised ones.
